Margo posted a condolence
Thursday, August 19, 2010
It is August 19, 2010. Mattice is sound asleep in her bed and I kissed her from you and from me. Every night before I tuck her in, I assure her that you are loving, protecting and guiding her all the way from heaven. I wish with everything that I have and everything I am that you could be here with us. My life just isen't the same. Although I love Mattice with everything I have, and she brightens each and every day, my heart is so heavy with sadness. I miss you so immensely. I love you so deeply. I think of you constantly. I carry your memory in my heart everywhere I go. I truly believe that the reason I am able to get through each day is because you have somehow given me the strength that you carried with you throughout your life. Thankyou for loving me unconditionally and teaching me what is truly important in life. Your heart is my home and my heart is yours forever

Dear Margo and family, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I only found out today that Mike had passed. It's probably been a couple of years since we've spoken and I recall that Mike continued to have health issues. At that time he was teaching in Cambridge I believe....I hadn't known that he was teaching in Beamsville (just down the road from my home). During my teenage years I met Megan and I was inspired by the Kindree family. They definately had more than their share of tragedies. Mike faced a lot of challenges but always fought each one as they came. Although I had not seen Mike in many years the one thing I remember about him was his wonderful laugh and his love of animals (especially those doggies). He definately will live on in the memory of others.

I think of you every minute of every day. I hear your voice, your laughter and remember your strength, kindness, humour and integrity. The memories we created are what get me through each day....that and the new memories with our little angel. There is not a day that goes by that Mattice is not reaching for your pictures, kissing your pictures and calling your name "Da-Da." She loves you so much. I miss you with all of my heart and soul. There is such an emptiness without you here. You gave me the greatest gift. You made me feel so loved, so safe, so capable and strong. I pray every night that you will visit me in my dreams (as well as Mattice). We love you forever....words cannot even explain. You are the love of my life - Margo

I've often thought of the old days and have tried to look up your name in the phone book. Probably the reason I couldn't find it is that you've remarried. I was surprised and saddened to hear about Doug's passing as well. I remember him as a big, strong, hearty man in your several visits to our home in Toronto.
It seems that you've endured a large measure of tragedy, including Steve Warwick's death not so very long ago. All these years I"ve regretted the difficult relationship that I had with the twins. Again, I tried to locate Steve to apologize but could never find him, so when I read of his passing, it shocked me to realize he was only about ten years my junior. We were all so young as teachers then, and inexperienced. Perhaps if you are still in touch with Kim you'd let her know that I apologize for not being more understanding of her and Steve. I lost a brother of my own just two years ago, and I know how hard it can be to go on without one.
Jim and I divorced may years ago, and I haven't remarried. Currently I'm recovering from surgery and that's why I'm so late in sending this on. I hope you receive this and that my sympathy for all your losses brings you some peace. With respect, and regard for our happy past associations, Carla Williams

It is with great sadness to hear that such a wonderful person has passed on in the prime of his life. I express my sincerest condolences to Mike's wife, daughter and family. All of us in the Brock Tech class developed a great bond over the course of the year and became one big extended family. As a mother of a young son myself, I can't imagine how difficult it is for Mike's daughter and his wife. Mike was such a great person, he always made us laugh, and there is no doubt in my mind that he has brightened the lives of so many people throughout his life. He will never be forgotten. I am very sorry that I missed the funeral and could not pay my respects in person to the family, however, I only just learned of the tragic news today.
I will definitely make a contribution to Mattice's trust fund and I extend a heart felt wish to all of the 2004-05 Brock University Tech Family to open your hearts and wallets and help take care of little Mattice, who's one of our own. You are in our prayers.

Carly is so fortunate to have such wonderful friends and I;m sure you feel the same. To Margo and family
My deepest sympathy to you at this time. It is always so difficult to find the right words. It is never easy. God must have had his reason for taking someone so young. They always say it is not for us to question.
Mike spoke so highly of you, Margo and he loved his little girl, so very much. He and I would always took the time to chat for a few minutes every day about his little family. He was so very proud of his new baby.
No words can bring him back, but just believe that he is now at peace. Mike was such a gentle, kind soul.
He loved working with the special needs kids. He had a special place in his heart with them and they will miss him. He really enjoyed doing those planter boxes for Christmas with them too. I have two of them. Now they will be a special keepsake for me.
Margo, know that he will be with you in spirit and that he will be looking down at you, smiling, perhaps from his special moonbeam. . .
Sincerely Melodee Foster, Administrative Secretary, Beamsville District Secondary School

Growing up in Caistorville I knew both Mike and Margo very well. This news has been very difficult to hear and relay to those who knew Mike. I cannot sufficiently express how deeply sorry I am for Margo and Mattice, as well as the whole Kindree and Atkinson families. As my dad said moments ago, no one at our stage in life should know this kind of pain. I am truly sorry Margo for your loss. John
