To the McLay Family,
Our sincere condolences for your huge loss. For a number of years, Jack worked at Stelco alongside my father, Denis Leedale, in the nail and wire sales division. Both Denis and Jack worked under the Sales Manager, Charlie Kidd. Although I was quite young at the time, I remember that my father always spoke very highly of Jack. At one point back in the mid-1960's, I travelled with Dad and Jack on a business trip to Michigan. When Jack's father passed away and Jack was managing his estate, Dad purchased his car (a beautiful 1964 Chevrolet Impala - 4 door hardtop) and that was the car that I learned to drive in. My Dad passed away all the way back in 1974 and both Jack and Lillian were so kind and helpful to my family at that time and we will never forget their kindness. Just last March when my sister, Joan, passed away I was surprised and pleased when Jack made the effort to come to the funeral visitation to pay his respects to our family. He was a wonderful man and we are sorry for your loss. I live in Sarnia, ON and will be unable to attend the funeral. My mother, Connie, also remembers Jack fondly. She is now 86 and still lives in Burlington. Unfortunately, she is not well enough to attend the funeral but she joins me in sending her sincere condolences at this sad time.
