Our memories of Bob are from the time when courted and was married to Anne. He was a great friend and and we had many laughs together. As you know he enjoyed life to the fullest and loved all of you deeply.
I know that words cannopt fill the empty place in your hearts, but I hope that you take some comfort in knowing that Bob was loved and respected by many. You will be in our thoughts and prayers.

I was very saddened to learn of the passing of Bob. I (Richard) worked with Bob in the Machine Shop at Dofasco and he was a very dedicated and a trusted employee. In his supervisory years he was always fair and understanding to those around him. He led a full life outside of Dofasco, stories of a loving family, diving and many other passtimes always were spoken of. My sincere condolences go with you and your family.

Bob and I have been friends from day 1 in Machine shop. We had many good times together fishing, cards, diving and sports. We will miss his sharp wit and humor.
My sincere heart felt condolences to the family.

Dear Jessie, Amy, Nicole, Lauren and Kayla:
We are so sorry and saddened to hear of your Dad's passing. May you find comfort in the many wonderful memories you had with him and the love he had for all of you.
Our thoughts are with you at this very difficult time.
In Memory of Dad
I find an old photograph
and see your smile.
As I feel your presence anew,
I am filled with warmth
and my heart remembers love.
I remember who you used to be,
the laughter we shared
and wonder what you have become.
Where are you now,
where did you go,
when the body is left behind
and the spirit is released to fly?
Perhaps you are the morning bird
singing joyfully at sunrise,
or the butterfly that dances
so carelessly on the breeze
or the rainbow of colours
that brightens a stormy sky
or the fingers of afternoon mist
delicately reaching over the mountains
or the final few rays of the setting sun
lighting up the skies,
edging the clouds with a magical glow.
I miss your being
but I feel your presence,
in whatever form you choose to take,
however you now choose to be.
Your spirit has become for me
a guardian angel on high
guiding, advising, and watching over me.
I remember you.
You are with me
and I am not afraid.

Dear Jessica, Amy, Nicole, Lauren, Kayla
I will always remember watching your dad with you all. The joy he felt when you were with him was undeniable. Whether it was sailing, taking a walk, or just making the "best toast in the world", everything he did was out of love for you.
Remember the very special times you had with your dad and cherish them - hold him close in your heart and he will always be with you.
I will never forget our special times together and I will be forever grateful for the precious memories.
My prayers are with you all.

For Jessica, Amy, Nicole, Lauren and Kayla:
I want to share a verse from one of Bob's favourite songs, " Tears in Heaven" by Eric Clapton
Time can bring you down
Time can bend your knees
Time can break your heart
Begging please - Begging please
Beyond the door there's peace I'm sure
And I know there'll be no more
"Tears in Heaven"
Take comfort in knowing that your dad loved you with all his heart.

For the entire Family but especially for Jessica, Amy, Nicole, Lauren, Kayla and Margaret:
Theresa and I were shocked and saddened by Bob's passing this Tuesday past. Over a span of 37 years I can say personally he was a true friend. Bob always
demonstrated the unique ability to look at a situation and give a candid truthfull response to whatever arised.
He loved his career at Dofasco and always did what he felt best for his people.
Girls, Bob was an inspiration in my life and we shared many things together as I know you have.
Know one thing "His Angels" as he recently referred to you all as, in a telephone conversation we recently had, were the dearest people in his life here. That love lives eternally on in his after life in Heaven.
God bless you all, our prayers, Theresa and Murray Smith.
