Obituary of William Cornelius VanRooyen

VANROOYEN, William Cornelius Peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Wednesday, March 11, 2009 in his 69th year. Beloved husband of Mary (nee Van wan rooy). Loving father of Nola (Bryan McPhee) and JoAnne. Wonderful Opa to Billy, Erin, Scott and Corey. After a long and courageous battle, our silent and strong hero went to his final resting place. Predeceased by his parents Cor (1996) and Jo (2002). William is survived by brothers Casey (Gloria), John (Marianne), Rick (Sherry) as well as sisters in law and many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Dr Ghangi, Dr. Alton, the nursing staff and kitchen staff (especially Anna) on the 6th floor, Juravinski Tower. Also many thanks to Gerda and Bern Selway and Cor and Gerry Van wan rooy. Cremation has taken place and a private family service was held at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, Stoney Creek.
