Obituary of Gladys Evelyn Whyte
WHYTE, Gladys Evelyn
Peacefully on Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at the Alexander Place Nursing Home in Waterdown, in her 89th year. Cherished by her children Allen and wife Doreen, and Graham and wife Linda, she was a much loved and valued grandmother to Kathryn, Karyn (and husband Douglas), Blair, Andrea (and husband Giuseppe), and James (and fiancée Jodie); and to her great-grand-daughters Lauren, Grace and Kate. She will be sadly missed by sister-in-law Betty Whyte and niece Elizabeth Lochbihler (and husband Perry), brothers-in-law James Thrower (and wife Violet) and Tom Moore (and wife Wilma), and sisters-in-law Louise Thrower and Marion Moore and all their families. Gladys was a long time employee of the Hamilton Board of Education as a Teacher, English Consultant and Principal. A faithful member of Philpott Memorial Church throughout her lifetime, Gladys served in the Sunday school, drama presentations and visitation. Family and friends will be welcomed at the DONALD V. BROWN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, on Thursday, March 19, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at Philpott Memorial Church, 84 York Blvd., Hamilton, at 1 p.m. on Friday, March 20, 2009.
