Obituary of John (Johnny) Sidney Woodland

WOODLAND, John Sidney (Johnny) Peacefully at Henderson Hospital on Saturday, February 21, 2009, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer, in his 68th year. Loving husband of Sandra (nee Nasby). Beloved son of Mary. Predeceased by his father Sidney and brother William. Dear father of sons Walter and Sherri of Fergus, Wayne and Andrea of Cobourg, daughter Tracy and husband Gerry of Cambridge. Dear grandfather of Kasondra, Kurtis, Alexis, Brooklyn, Hailey, Kayla, Travis, Tyler and Tristan. Sadly missed by brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, Aunt Nadia, as well as many friends and fellow horsemen and women. Special thanks to the doctors and nurses on 3F, and doctors and staff from Recovery and ICU. Friends will be received at the DONALD V. BROWN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Lake Avenue Dr., Stoney Creek on Thursday from 7-9 p.m. where funeral service will be held in the chapel on Friday, February 27th at 10:30 a.m. Cremation to follow. In John's memory, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, the O.H.H.A. Bereavement Fund or a charity of your choice would be gladly appreciated by the family.
