Obituary of Pearl Matilda Crawford

CRAWFORD, Pearl Matilda (Cooper) 1910-2009 In her 100th year, Pearl passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at the Township of Osgoode Care Centre, Metcalfe, Ontario. Pearl was born July 16, 1910 in Moreli Prince Edward Island. She was predeceased by her husband Denis and daughter Karen Anne. Also predeceased by her brothers and sisters Lorne William, Mary Leona (Lena), Charles Wesley (Wes), Chester Elmore (Cap), Emma Jane (Messervey), Arthur Gordon, and Gordon Fulton (Bud). Left with precious memories is her sister Dorothy Eileen (Bishop) formerly from Truro, Nova Scotia now Ottawa. She was the much loved mother of Richard Denis, Metcalfe, Ont., Linda Pearl Collins Saskatoon, Sask; and Joseph Kent (Bonnie) Calvet Sask. Pearl was greatly admired by and will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Dwayne (Kalli Caughlin), Tammy (Donald McLaren), William (Dominique) Collins, Rhonda (John Evans), Trevor, and Bilinda (Jason Hilkewich). Also by her great grandchildren Ashely and Chantal (McLaren), Sarah and Tyler (Evans), Jayda and Damaris (Hilkewich), Ava (Collins), and Jack (Crawford) and great great grandchildren Ryan and Jocellyn (Ashley). Pearl was a very special lady; determined, kind and generous and we are all proud to call her Mom and Grandma. Mourning her passing are also many nieces, nephews and friends. She was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 622 Stoney Creek, for many years as was her husband Denis. Friends will be received at the DONALD V. BROWN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Monday from 7-9 p.m. following a Legion Service, held at 6:30 p.m. Cremation will follow. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Tuesday, September 29 at 3 p.m. Interment Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
