Obituary of Lorne John David Evans

EVANS, Lorne John David Passed away suddenly, but peacefully, to be with his Lord and Saviour on Tuesday February 17, 2009 in his 89th year. He leaves behind his beloved wife and best friend of 64 years, Hilda. Loving father of Lorna (Sheila), Valerie Young (Craig), John (Donna) and Ron (Deb). Cherished grandfather of six grandchildren, Blair (Beth), Brent (Tammy), Grant (Stephanie), Leah Evans, Jennifer and Emily Craig-Evans and great-grandson Maxwell Evans. Brother of Dot Dagg (Cal). Predeceased by his parents, sister and brother. Lorne was a Second World War Veteran and a long time manager for London Life Insurance in Hamilton, retiring in 1980. Lorne and his beloved Hilda have lived in Stoney Creek for the past 47 years. Friends will be received at the DONALD V. BROWN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Monday February 23, 2009 from 12 noon until the time of the Funeral Service at 1pm. Interment to follow at Mountview Gardens Cemetery.
