Dear Joan,
We are so sorry for your great loss and ours also. When Jason and Gabe met in dialysis back in the 90's he soon became a mentor to Jason. He gave such wonderful guidance that led to a successful cooking career. Thank you Gabe.
Love to you and your family.

Joan I was away on vacation when this happened and I want to send my condolences to you and your children. I loved listening to Gabe talk about you and the kids. It was evident that he loved you all very much. When he spoke of you it was always "my Joni". I will miss him. Thinking of you and hope you will find peace.
Love

I met Gabe at my first summer job in high school at the Skylon Tower. He became a close friend teaching me to dream big and enjoy the finer things in life like Good Food, Good Conversation and Good Friends. I attribute some of my success to Gabe who always had a kind word of encouragement. He treated me and my family very well for 30 years.
He loved life and it showed. Every time I made it back to Niagara Falls, Gabe & Joni made time to meet with me. On my last trip we had a wonderful lunch at Carparcio with Joni and Jane at Gabe's side. As always the conversation was great and Gabe had more than a comment or two about the food and service :)
We laughed and took pictures. He gave me grief about my Hummer. As some of the other comments have stated Gabe loved a good debate, just for the sake of the debate. He often took the other side to challenge you. I left the parking lot smiling as always.
Gabe thank you for 30 plus years of friendship. You will be greatly missed, but your spirit lives on in our pictures, memories and hearts.
Joni--Thank you for standing strong for all these years as Gabe battled for his life. I know it wasn't easy many, many days. Your devotion is something I'll always remember.
Jane--Gabe loved you more than you'll ever know. I'm so glad he got to see his Grand Child before leaving us.
Tom--Gabe was so proud of you. If you could only have heard him talk about your accomplishments with others. You should be very proud to call him Dad.
I'm hear if you need an ear to listen or someone to cry with.
Love,
Gregory Cleary

Dear Joni and Family,
I was deeply saddened upon reading the news of Gabe's passing. I wish to express my condolences to you. Although I have only known him for the last six years from our common illness, I consider him a very good friend and will miss him. I looked forward to visiting him when I would stop by at the Dialysis unit. Those visits won't be the same anymore.

Joannie and family, I want to let you know you are in my thoughts. Gabe was a wonderful person and he will be sadly missed. It feels like only yesterday, he was calling me at the bar for a diet coke and I can hear his voice saying Genusa come try this, the worst was the caviar!!

I have always thought of Gabe as a brother that I could always count on as a friend and we always had a wonderful time together, except when we talked politics. Then the fireworks started.
Tom and Eva and I have spent many times with Gabe and Joanie that we will treasure. We always had a good laugh and of course it was always while we were sharing a wonderful meal together.
Eva has always had a special place in her heart for Gabe as they could talk politics and food. Her and his two favourite topics.
We will miss you so much Gabe. We are glad you are at peace now with no more suffering.
We love you.

Joni and family I know you've heard it many times but Gabe was truly a wonderful person. He treated everyone with respect. Whenever I ran into him, he always had a kind word to say about people he had worked with in the past. When he worked at the NPC ,Gabe was the NPC!
He faced his illness with dignity. He was one of a kind and will be missed by many.
