Obituary of Verna Bessie Harris

HARRIS, Verna Bessie (Nee McCullough) A Beautiful bird has taken flight Up to the skies As blue as her eyes Into the light. Passed peacefully in her sleep at Ridgeview Long Term Care Centre on Sunday, January 18, 2009, in her 91st year. Devoted wife of the late Keith Harris. Survived by loving daughters Dona Evans (Carl) and Wendy Stricker (Michael). Dear grandmother of Arianne Commerford (Al), Michael Stricker (Aimee) and Tara Cleminson (Kevin). Great- grandmother of Evan Commerford and Taylor Higgins. Dearest sister of William McCullough. Sister-in-law of Wynne McCullough, Lilia Harris and Gord Cude. Predeceased by loving parents Samuel and Edna McCullough, brother Jack McCullough, sister Doris Hummel, sister-in-law Thora McCullough and brother-in-law Michael Hummel. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives. Cremation has taken place. Interment of Verna's cremated body will take place March 15, 2009 at Prospect Cemetery in Toronto. In memory of Verna, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by her family.
