Obituary of Janusz (John) Zagrodzki

August 19, 1946-June 8, 2023

“Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom”

Surrounded by family, Janusz peacefully passed away after a strong, courageous battle with lung disease.  He will be deeply missed by his devout wife, Halina, of 55 years, his loving children, Richard and Dorothy, his grandchildren Katrina, Erik, Ashley, Halina and Matthew as well as many other family and friends.  Janusz built his life with Halina on a foundation of deep rooted Catholic faith, unconditional love for family and a strong work ethic, retiring after 41 years as a machinist with Associated Springs. He was an avid pigeon racer and active member of the Polish Alliance of Canada. He endured the hardships of immigration and built a beautiful life for himself and his family never forgetting his Polish native roots.  Thank you for your unconditional love, your remarkable fighting spirit and your positivity and humour.  Sincere thanks to St. Joseph’s Hospital (ICU team and Dr. Hambly), Toronto General Hospital, Dr. Ambis and nurse Donna from Bayshore Home Care.  In lieu of flowers a donation to Firestone Institute for Respiratory Health St. Joseph Hospital or Toronto General Hospital Lung Transplant program would be appreciated.  Family and friends will be received at Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Wednesday, June 14^th from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. with prayers at 8 p.m.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church on Thursday, June 15, 2023 at 11 a.m.  Cremation to follow.  Notes of sympathy and condolence may be made at www.donaldvbrown.ca
