Obituary of Maria Claudia Quintanilla

It with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of Maria Claudia Quintanilla. Maria took her first breath on February 18, 1937, and her last breath on September 14, 2023, with the love, support and prayer of her family by her side. Predeceased by her husband Juan Antonio Santos. Left behind to mourn are her sons Antonio Quintanilla (Reina), Nelson Quintanilla (Mayra), Roberto Quintanilla (Deisy), Rene Quintanilla (Dina), Tomas Quintanilla (Estrella) followed by daughters Estella de Sandi (Roger), Maria Lopez (Gilberto) and Rosa Quintanilla; and her 170 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Maria landed in Canada on July 17, 1987, fleeing a civil war in El Salvador to start a better life for her family. She was an active church goer for more than 40 years. She loved to sing, and through song she worshiped God and prayed over her entire family. Maria’s kind, gentle, loving, caring and STRONG soul will forever and always be remembered. She leaves behind a great legacy that will live on through many generations to come.

Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Sunday from 3-7 p.m. A service will be held in the Chapel on Monday, September 18, 2023, at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Mountview Gardens Cemetery.
