Obituary of Helene Iossifidou

IOSSIFIDOU, Helene (Gossifidou) Peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital with her family surrounding her on Friday, January 2, 2009 at the age of 85. Beloved wife of the late George. Dear loving mom of Anne, Bill and his wife Dorothy, Phyllis, James, Mary and her husband Curtis Murray. Also remembered by 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Sister of Evdoxia Miskas (the late George Miskas), Dina Damianopolous (Aristotle), Anastasia in Greece and predeceased by her brother Louis. Will also be missed by her sisters-in-law Mary (the late Angelo) and Dorothy in Australia. Helene will be dearly remembered by her nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. Thank you to the staff of St. Joseph’s Hospital for the tender care of our mom. Friends will be received at the DONALD V. BROWN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Lake Avenue Dr., Stoney Creek on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 22 Head St. (corner of Strathcona and Head) on Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at 1 p.m. Interment Eastlawn Cemetery.
