I will always remember our childhood and growing up together. The countless fishing trips as we got older, always looking for a trophy. You will never be forgotten in my life, and by many others.

I was googling the name of my beloved old friend Rosi Balansiak when I came across this obituary.
It's been decades, but I still remember countless times in that spotless little house when visiting Rosi, and Rolfie would always pop out of his bedroom to say hello ....... softspoken and gentle, and so intensely focused on whatever he was doing whether he was listening to music or pursuing something creative - he had the inner resources to enjoy his solitude completely, yet he was so friendly and easy-going. I remember Rolfie being the gentleman and offering to escort me home a few times when I had stayed too late for comfort and had to pass the deserted field and woods on the way home. We would hold hands and swing our arms as we marched the short way to my house, gossiping and joking about mutual friends and schoolmates. He was a lovely person.
I know it will be so hard this first Christmas without him there with y'all, but some time ago I had an epiphany which showed me beyond doubt that the soul carries on after death and a person is still the same person they were in life - death is not an ending but a metamorphosis, so please take comfort in knowing that Rolf is still there sharing your lives with you every day.
God Bless - Cathy Nesbitt

I am so sorry to hear of your loss , I caught my first walleye on lake Erie 16 years ago with Rolf , went out many times more & became friends over the years , this was a man who truly loved fishing , a great outdoorsman , a creator of baits that where so truly unique i think he interveiwed everyone he sold to too make sure that they where the right candidate to use his baits , they had to have the passion knowing what they are using them for , just as Rolf had the passion to make them for those individuals , i am glade i was one of them , i will cherrish my baits forever & never loose any of the memories that i had with Rolf because they will last a life time , Rolf / buddy , may you rest your werry eyes down to sleep , you will be remembered by all who you have touched over the years , may God be with you.
