Obituary of George Arthur Krick

KRICK, George Arthur Peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital on January 8, 2011, in his 90th year. Beloved husband of Helen (nee Smart) for 64 years. Loving father of Martha Huffman (Drew), Dianne Bender (Bill) and Joan Cranston (Doug). Predeceased by his son Brian (2005) (Barb) and siblings Hilda Smith (and brother-in-law Douglas) and Muriel Hamilton. Survived by his sister Helen Swick (Lyle) and brother-in-law Glen Hamilton. Will be sadly missed by grandchildren: Brent and Peter Huffman, Michael (Laurie) and Brian Bender, and Krista (Justin Laposi) and James Cranston, and great-grandsons, Joshua and Ethan Bender. George had a lifelong passion for family, farming, Holsteins, horses, and watching football and hockey. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. where the Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at 11 a.m. Interment Tapleytown Cemetery to follow. The family wishes to express their gratitude and appreciation to the staff at Heritage Green Nursing Home, for their continuing care and support of George over the last three years; and also wishes to thank the Emergency and 4th floor staff at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Centre.
