I was so sorry to hear about about the passing of Mrs. Lucas. I did not know her well, actually only making her acquaintance during the wedding preparations for Linda's wedding, for which I was a bridesmaid. Linda and I worked together at Sears for about 6 years and I was very honoured to be asked to be a bridesmaid. Part of the pre-wedding celebrations included a trouseau tea hosted by Mrs. Lucas. At the time, that sounded like a very old-fashioned idea to me , but it proved to be quite lovely and a wonderful celebration of Linda's upcoming marriage to Gary. Afterwards, I recall that Mrs. Lucas send me a thank you note for my participation along with a delicate embroidered handkerchief as a token of her appreciation. Both struck me as very old-fashioned at the time, but I must confess that I still have that handkerchief. It has always reminded me that she understood the importance of family and what was she held to be important. I recognize that for a number of years Mrs. Lucas was not the person she had been before Alzheimer's had taken over her life, but the person I remember her to be will always be appreciated. I express my sincere condolences for your loss.
