Was i the only one who was actually afraid of uncle joe when i was little? That bellowing grizzly bear voice! And was he joking..or serious?!! It didn't take long to realize that that grizzly bear was really a teddy bear and that teasing was his love for us. And love us he did! I have no doubt that he literally gave the shirt off his back- multiple times for multiple people. That's just the kind of man he was. His devotion to his parents, his work ethic, his generosity, his yummy homemade sauerkraut (!)....i have so much to learn from uncle joe!
Jeff and Ashley, we are praying for you every day. We love you!

From:Linda & Mike Nickele (Goodwin). My dear little sweet Jeff. Where to begin? First, we are so very sorry for you and your family. That doesn't even say it. Your wonderful father, Joe. I was so very young when he came into my life. I will never forget the pies he took from my mother's kitchen window sill. The banjo sing-songs with dad, Joe, and Sharpie. They were so loud, someone reported them. Beautiful, fun-loving Joe said "Arnie! Don't get them mad!, I just started 2 weeks holidays." The song that wonderful, crazy man taught you for show & tell, about my mom. Mike knew your dad from DOFASCO. Fellow welders, good friends, so very grateful for the number of years he knew and spent with Joe. My boys loved him, Mike loved him, and I loved him dearly. There is not another one like him. All who knew Joe only had good and wonderful things to say. Jeff, I have loved you since I changed your diapers, and with that, I know how much you loved your dad. He was a good man and great father. We will all miss him very much, but never forget him. R.I.P. my dear friend. Linda & Mike Nickele (Goodwin).
