Obituary of Dr. William Montgomery

MONTGOMERY, Dr. William Peacefully on February 13, 2011 at the Hamilton General Hospital in his 89th year. Beloved husband of Doris Merritt-Montgomery and the late Anne (nee Forsyth). He will be sadly missed by Doris’ family; Suzi Szereszewski (Abe), Wendy Veldman (Bill), Richard Merritt (Anita) and their children Zachary, Jacob, Katelyn, Michael, Daniel, Alex, and Benson. Survived by his sister-in-law Anne Forsyth Woolsey, niece Elizabeth Woolsey-Annis (Peter) Brother-in-law Kendall Livingston (Shirley) and their children Suzanne, Heather and Lisa. Doctor Montgomery was a graduate of Delta Highschool, McMaster University, he received his doctorate of Philosophy in 1960, he became a member of the Canadian College of Teachers, and ended his career as a Doctor of Philosophy at the University of Toronto. According to Bill’s wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service. A Graveside service will be held at Fairview Cemetery in Port Rowan, Ontario on Friday, February 18th at 11:30 a.m. A Memorial Service will be held at Ker United Church, on Sunday, July 24th at 2 p.m. Memorial Donations to the Heritage building and repair fund at Ker United Church, the M.S. Society or the Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family. “Please do not regard my passing with sadness, defeat or loss.
