Fred Hirons (Pat's brother in Cumnor, England) posted a condolence
Friday, September 12, 2008
Dear Pat must have got thoroughly fed up with being poorly for so long but, like me, she was a Taurus and a born optimist. Her passing will leave a large gap in the lives of her close family and my heart goes out to them.

Once a month on Sunday evenings, Pat and I would ring in turn to have a good old chat and a laugh. I will miss our hour long gossip with my very dear friend. We are thinking of Les and Jo and their families with sadness and love.

I've known your mom for many years and although we
lost touch over time, I have never forgotten how much
fun and laughter she generated at our weekly card games.
I am so sorry I missed the celebration of her life as we were away at the time.
We extend our greatest sympathy and condolences for your loss. The world is a lesser place without her.

l was Pat's housekeeper at Albright Manor. l loved going into her room to have a brief chat. As hard as it was at times to understand Pat, we always seemed know what she was asking. l am going to miss her very much. With sympathy to all her family.

I had the great pleasure of knowing Pat as her elder from St. John's Presbyterian Church. Although I was her elder for a few short years, I always enjoyed our visits. She struggled to communicate after her stroke (that's when I got to know her) but made very plain what she wanted to say and was so cheerful through her struggle to get out just the right words. She made me feel very welcome and seemed to enjoy our visits. I am sorry that I was unable to pay me respects in person. I want to express my sympathies to her family and I thank God for her life and her wonderful kind and friendly spirit. I remeber her fondly.
Sincerely,
Murray Bain

There are so many wonderful stories and memories that one could share about your Mum and Nana but that would just take far too much space. As you know your Mum/Nana was such a wonderful, caring and funny woman and it's those memories that will last a lifetime. She will be missed by so many people. Our deepest sympathies go out to your family. May she rest in peace.

I have many fun memories of Pat whom I cared for on the 3rd Floor until I was moved to the 4th floor in January. She always made me laugh and we shared some private laughs about my hairstyle. I will always remember that. One thing that sticks out is the love she had for her grandchildren. I remember seeing her young grandson who would ride his bike up to the manor to visit and watch movies with her. Such a wonderful young man. She was so proud of them. This brought her so much joy. My deepest condolences to all the family. She was a wonderful woman.
