Obituary of Giovanna Ragona

RAGONA, Giovanna (Taormina) Peacefully at St. Joseph’s Villa on Friday, February 5, 2010 in her 81st year. Giovanna, loving wife of the late Gaspare. Beloved daughter of the late Salvatore and Antonia Taormina, daughter-in-law of the late Salvatore and Francesca Ragona. Dear mother of Sam (Josephine), her angel Franca, Paul (Norma), Vince (Margaret) and Frank (Marta). Loving grandmother of Sara, Toni and Samantha, David (Izabella), Marco, Roberto and Sandro, Michael (Hali), Christopher, Paul and Stephen, her angel Joanne, Laura and Kelly. Great-grandmother to Paityn. Sister and sister-in-law of the late Salvatore (late Antonia), late Antonio (late Nina), late Rosaria Cracchiolo (late Charles), Sebastiano (late Vita), late Paolo, late Giuseppe (late Rosa), Giovanni (Vita), late Caterina Ragona, late Vince (Herta) Ragona, Olivia Calandra (late Giovanni) and the late Nino Ragona. Also survived by many nieces and nephews in Canada, U.S.A. and Sicily. Many heartfelt thanks to the caring staff at the St. Joseph’s Villa for their patience and continued support and compassion. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Monday, February 8 at 11 a.m. Entombment at Our Lady of Victory Mausoleum, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
