RAPLEY, William Percival
Peacefully on Monday, October 24, 2011 at St. Peter's Hospital, in his 89th year. Predeceased by his wife Dolores Eleanor Rapley (nee Stoneman). Loving Father of Dr. William Alfred Rapley (Paula) and Douglas Wayne Rapley. Beloved grandfather of Lisa Rapley, Sarah Woodgate, Meagan Hatch, Michael Rapley, Caitlin Rapley, Andrew Rapley and great-grandchildren Julian and Elliot Woodgate. Loved brother and brother-in-law of Marion Sheddan (the late Alex) of Hamilton, Kay Rapley (the late Don) of Brantford, Jack Rapley (Jessie) of Burlington and Bob Rapley (Jean) of Woodstock. Lifelong friend of Janet Lockwood. Predeceased by his parents Percival and Charlotte Rapley (nee Haley). William served in WWII with the RCAF 435 Squadron in Burma and India. Graduated from the University of Toronto in 1951 as a Pharmacist and operated Best's Pharmacy on Kenilworth Ave. He was an avid golfer and curler at Glendale Golf and Country Club for 51 years. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home , 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Thursday, October 27th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, October 28th at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Woodland Cemetery. Memorial Donations to Endangered Species Reserve Fund, Toronto Zoo or the Juravinski Cancer Centre would be greatly appreciated by the family.
