Obituary of James Hamilton Smith

SMITH, James Hamilton Peacefully at Regina Gardens Nursing Home in Hamilton on Saturday, February 2, 2008, in his 92nd year. Predeceased by his wife Margaret Aileen (Pettibone). Leaves behind his loving daughter Joanne Carole Wright of Hamilton and son Robert (Bob) James and his wife Sue of Blue Sea, Quebec. Dear brother-in-law of Mary Gay Brooks of Gabriola Island, British Columbia and brother of Shirley Dorian, Betty Wing, Myrtle Spinks, Audrey Sevigny and Marie (Mickey) Luttrell. Loved grandfather of Jim and JoAnn Kompare, David and Kelly Kompare, Denis Kompare and Alix Morgan, Janet Kompare and David Fritz and great-grandfather of Zackary and Megan Kompare, Abby and Charlie Kompare, Matthew and Sarah Kompare. Jim was a member of Ionic Lodge 549 (32nd Degree Scottish Rite), Rameses Temple Toronto, and the Shrine Club's of Hamilton, Barrie and North Bay. He was also a member of the Glendale Curling Club where he helped with the Little Rockers Program. A special thank you to the staff of Regina Gardens Nursing Home. Friends will be received at the DONALD V. BROWN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Monday from 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at 3 p.m. Cremation to follow.
