Obituary of William (Bill) Henry Smyth
SMYTH, William Henry (Bill) - finally lost his fight with his lengthy illness and passed away January 23, 2012.
Bill was born in Newtownards, Northern Ireland in 1934 and brought his family to Hamilton in 1963. He worked as a millwright with local 1916 for 35 years and brought his son Bill into the trade. He was a member of the Hamilton Dart League, and Battlefield Masonic Lodge. He is survived by his loving wife Eveline Doherty (McEneny), his only daughter Jacqueline and husband Mike, sons William Alexander and wife Linda, and Gary all of the Hamilton area. Also survived by his sister Amelia Angus and family of Burlington. Sadly missed in the U.K. are his sisters Mary and family, Lilly and husband Raymond and family Elenor and husband Ian and family, Gladas and husband Johnny and family and his brother Tom and wife Vera and family Sadly missed by all nieces and nephews. Left with a big gap in their hearts and souls are grandchildren Jim Spino and wife Chrystal and their son Jacob and Janice Spino; partner Marchello Tecca and their son Gabriel; Sherri and husband Bill McCall; Jessica and Rob Eggers; William (Bill) Smyth and Jessica Roloson; Gary's daughters Stephanie and Katelyn. Bill was pre deceased by his brothers Adam, Sammy, George and his sister Faye. Also survived by Brother-in-law Wesley and his wife Dorothy McEneny, sister-in-law Mary McEneny, sister-in-law Maureen Dukes and her husband William. Bill will be missed by all who knew him as he was a good friend to all. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Friday from 7-9 p.m. only.
