Obituary of John Harvey Wilson
WILSON, John Harvey
Surrounded by his loving family, Harvey died peacefully at home on March 2, 2011 in his 80th year. Survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Elizabeth (nee Watson), and his much loved sister Anna May Scott - he is predeceased by his brother James Maurice Wilson. Harvey will be sadly missed by daughters Elizabeth (Wade) and Julia (Randall). Loving grandpa to Lindsay (Shawn), Derek, Kenneth, Heather and Kathleen, and a great-grandfather to wee Randy. Born in Culross, Scotland on June 20, 1931, Harvey immigrated to Canada in 1970. He was a member of the Royal Air Force (RAF), and served for six years in the Middle East. Harvey took great pride in all of his endeavours and especially loved his restaurant The White Heather Fish & Chips. However, he believed that his greatest achievements were his children, grandchildren and great- grandson. His sense of humour and love of practical jokes will be greatly missed. In keeping with Harvey's wishes, a small private family memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2011 at Heritage Green Presbyterian Church in Stoney Creek. Many thanks to Dr. S. Middlebrook for her caring, compassion and support, and to the wonderful caregivers from Bayshore who were there every day for many years supporting both Harvey and his family. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Parkinson Society of Canada would be appreciated by the family. Please send condolences, stories, and memories to: www.donaldvbrown.ca
