Obituary of Slater Renee

SLATER (Johnstone), Renee It is with deep sadness that the family of Renee Slater announces her death at St. Peter’s Hospital, on Saturday, October 25, 2008 in her 89th year. Predeceased by husbands James Hugh Johnstone (1965) and Arthur Slater (1991), son David Johnstone (2001), and grandson Joseph Johnstone (2008). An exceptional and admirable woman, she was deeply loved and will be terribly missed by daughter Brenda Johnstone, granddaughters Elizabeth and her husband Philip Christoff, and Deborah and her husband George Ceh. Her great grandchildren brought her so much pleasure and they will always remember and miss their “Wowee”; Thomas, Claire, Sarah and Allison Christoff, and Johnathon and Samuel Ceh. Sadly remembered by grandson David Johnstone and his family. Grandmother of Veronica Jones. Renee will also be sadly missed by cousin Jacqueline who travelled from England to see her. Renee was a past member of the Church of The Redeemer, Stoney Creek, Grace Anglican Church, Hamilton, and most recently the Church of The Nativity, Hamilton. She has always been so important to her family and will leave a huge void in our hearts and lives. The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Jean Mullens and her staff for their many years of care and support as well as to St. Peter’s Hospital for all of their care and compassion. Friends will be received at the DONALD V.BROWN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Lake Ave. Dr., Stoney Creek on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Wednesday, October 29th at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the C.N.I.B., St. Matthews House, or the charity of your choice, would be most appreciated.
