Obituary of Evelyn Francis Etherden

Evelyn entered into eternal life in the arms of her Lord and saviour Jesus Christ on January 12, 2014, peacefully surrounded by her family. Predeceased by her loving husband Robert Etherden, sisters Anne, Helen, Phyllis and brother Walter. Survived by brother John (Sheila) Letwin, sister Marylynn Aviks, sister-in-laws Dorothy Rosacker, Mildred Talbot, and Margaret Hennick. Loving mother to Debbie (John) Papp, Robin Etherden, Rhonda (Jim) Roxburgh, and Michael Etherden. Cherished Grandma to David, Stacey, Sarah, Kyle, Jimmy, Chad, Daniel, Brittany, Brent, Jasmine, Hailey, and Sophia as well as “Gramma the Great” to Owen and Hunter. Beloved aunt and great-aunt to many nieces and nephews. Evelyn was a faithful and devoted member of Cheyne Presbyterian Church. Thanks to great niece Spring Sweeney-Gall for her loving and professional care. Evelyn will be sadly missed by all. Friends will be received to celebrate Evelyn’s life at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, on Wednesday, January 15th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2014 at Cheyne Presbyterian Church, 7 King Street West, Stoney Creek. Interment to follow at Mountview Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Cheyne Presbyterian Church Benevolent Fund or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be greatly appreciated by the family.
