Obituary of Jeannette Rose Macynski

Jeannette Rose Macynski, 69 of Hamilton died on October 7th, 2013 at St. Joseph’s Hospital after a lengthy, courageous battle with multiple health challenges. She was the beloved only child of her late parents, Rose (Ott) and William Shermeto. Jeannette was also pre-deceased by her husband, Leonard in 1970. She leaves behind several relatives and many close friends. Jeannette was a dedicated teacher of hearing-impaired students at Gibson and Hampton Heights Public Schools. A graduate of McMaster University in 1979, she was a member of their Alumni Gallery Committee for many years. Jeannette was a faithful, long-time member of St. Eugene’s Catholic Church. Generous and compassionate, Jeannette lived with joy and humour, and was loved and respected by all who knew her. Visitation will be held at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, on Sunday, January 26, 2014 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Vigil prayers at 2:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Eugene’s Parish (Corner of Queenston & Parkdale) on Monday, January 27, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
