Obituary of Maurice John Childs

CHILDS, Maurice John Peacefully on Wednesday, August 18, 2010 in his 92nd year, at St. Peter’s Hospital, Hamilton. Son of the late Arthur and Minnie Childs. Beloved husband of Ethel (2007). Loving father of Wayne (Judy) and Glen (Shirley). Much loved grandfather of Cindy Childs, David (Karen) Childs, Jamie (Steve) Smith, Jason Childs and great-grandchildren; Kristen and Ryan Childs, Ashton, Avery, Jaiden, Mark and Ethan Smith. Brother of Cecil, Clifford, Stanley (all predeceased). Maurice retired from Stelco (20’’ mill) in 1982, was a Charter member of the Winona Men’s Club, member of Fifty United Church and 50 year member of Union Lodge #7 A.F. & A.M., Grimsby, Ontario. Friends will be received at Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek (enter from King St. during construction). Visitation on Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Lodge Service Friday at 8:45 p.m.The Funeral Service will be held at Fifty United Church, 1455 Highway #8, Winona, Ontario, at 11 a.m., on Saturday, August 21, 2010.
