Obituary of Joseph Skrtich

Peacefully, on Sunday, May 18, 2014 at the age of 85. Beloved husband of Mary Skrtich (Nejak). Predeceased by his parents Ivan and Mary. Dear father of Gary (Cheryl), Mark (Maureen), Joe (Penny). Lovingly remembered by 5 grandchildren; Steven, David, Sarah (Jarrett), Kristen, Lisa and 2 great-grandchildren; Harlee and Cruz. Dear brother of the late John (Victoria), Ivan, George (Denise). Loved uncle of Richard (Candace) and Susan. Joe was a member of the Croatia National Home, C.F.U. Lodge #954 and Carpenters Union Local 18. Joe coached minor hockey and little league baseball in Stoney Creek for many years. He had a love for music and entertaining people his entire life with many musicians. He was also a member of C.N.H. Senior Golf and treasured his friendships with his fellow golfers. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Wednesday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Incarnation of Our Blessed Lord Parish (access the church parking lot by travelling north on Nash Rd. only) on Thursday, May 22, 2014 at 9 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to any charity closest to your heart would be greatly appreciated by the family.
