I was visiting my mother Dina D'Angela on Sunday and was sad to learn of Mary's passing. My mother was across the hall from Mary so I got to know her well. I had many chats with her in her room, at bingo and mostly in the front lobby with her 'coffee club'. She welcomed and appreciated the visits. She was competitive at bingo, always checking with me to see who won the most games, made me chuckle. What I will remember most about Mary though is the kindness she showed my mother. My mother has very poor eyesight and Mary would come and get her and have my mother follow her to and from the dining room at meal times. She would also tell me if and when my mother was having a good/bad day. Mary was frail towards the end but her mind was sharp as a whip. I truly enjoyed our conversations and will miss seeing her.
