Obituary of Donald James Harber

With profound sadness and endless love, the family of Donald James Harber announce his passing at St. Peter’s Hospital on May 19, 2015 at the age of 67. Loving father and father-in-law to Carla and George Arsenault, Nikie and Randy Heinbecker. Loving grandpa to George, Jacob, Erin and Owen. Lovingly survived by his mother Alberta Harber and her sister Nell Jones. He was predeceased by the love of his life and best friend for 41 years Yvonne in 2010, grandson William (2003), father Ernie Harber (1993) and sister Joyce Smith (2004). Forever remembered by his longtime friends Bill and Doreen and all his family in B.C, N.B and Florida. Don was a mentor, inspiration and voice of reason during his work and family life. He was employed at Sears, Firestone until it closed and then spent his last 23 working years at Hotz Environmental until he retired in 2013. Next to his family his second love was being at the cottage and woodworking. He never sat still and his mind was always thinking of what to build next and what beautiful things he did build and has left for us to cherish along with all our wonderful memories. A celebration of Don’s Life will be held at Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Thursday, May 21, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, May 22, 2015 at 1 p.m. Cremation to follow.
