Obituary of Kathleen Faye Muldoon
After a courageous battle with a cancerous brain tumour, God has called Kathy home at the age of 62 on Sunday, July 19, 2015 with her family by her side. Loving wife and best friend of William (Bill) Wade of 40 years. Devoted mother to her children; Rebecca (Sheldon) Muldoon-Berg and Kelly Ruth (Vince) Gould. Proud and loving Gramma of Alex, Joey, Juliana, Kyler and Kerry, Alice Rose and James. Kathy was loved by her parents Shirley Downtown and the late James L. Downton (2003). Kathy was much loved by her in-laws, Tom, Velda, the late Keith (Barb), Tom (Sue), Jim (Eva), Neil, Janet and many nieces and nephews. Kathy was a faithful long time member of The Hamilton First Church of the Nazarene. Their love and support has been steadfast and unwavering. Kathy’s Church family was an extension of her family and meant the world to her and Bill. Kathy will be missed by her numerous friends. She will be remembered by her amusing sense of humour, warm hearted smile and uncompromising positive attitude. Kathy will be missed by her Dalmatians Tia and Timmy and her black and white cat Twister. Kathy worked for Great-West Life Assurance part-time for over 10 years. Kathy was an avid camper, canoeist, hiker and swimmer and shared that joy with her children and grandchildren. Kathy and Bill were foster parents for 13 years. She was a dedicated blood donator having donated over 183 donations. Bill and family wish to express their sincerest gratitude for the outpouring of love and kindness during Kathy’s illness. Many thanks to the staff of Juravinski Hospital, St. Joseph’s Home Care, Bayshore Health and CAP. The dedication to care by Dr. Herte, Theresa, Susan, Victoria, Manny and PSW workers is greatly appreciated. In keeping with Kathy’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A ‘Celebration’ of Kathy’s life will be held at Crown Point Community Church, 92 Ottawa St. N., Hamilton on Tuesday, July, 28, 2015 at 11am. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Crown Point Community Church or a non-perishable item for the Giving Cupboard would be appreciated by the family.
