Obituary of Theodorus DeWildt
Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on July 10, 2014, in his 93rd year. Born in Holland June 23, 1922. He was the proud Owner and Founder of DeWildt Car Sales (DeWildt Chrysler Dodge Jeep & DeWildt Honda) in Hamilton. Devoted Husband, Father and Opa. For 64 amazing years he was married to Jane. Their love for each other never faltered throughout their marriage and a day never passed without Dad telling mom how much he loved her. He was a great father, mentor and inspiration to his four children Ted, Rick, Miriam and Ken. His support and care never wavered and he had a tremendous impact on all our lives. He was a father-in-law and second father to Victoria (Grant), Christine (Richardson), Dave (Foran) and Melanie (Steele). He was a special Opa to 9 grandchildren Jordan, Christopher, David, Michael, Madison, Adam, Alex, Rebecca and Hillary. All of them were special to him and he always had time to share and pass on his life experiences to them. Dear brother of Margaret (Hubert), Truus, John (Emily) and predeceased by Wim, Wil, Ed, Guus and Gerrie. He will be loved and missed by many relatives in Holland. He was a humble man of strong Catholic faith and always took the time to speak with people. For the staff of DeWildt Chrysler and DeWildt Honda he was a mentor and treated all of them as an extension of his own family. A special thanks to the Critical Care Team at St. Joseph’s Hospital. They gave him great comfort and care during his brief stay with them. Thanks to Dr.Trevor Kwok and his staff who cared for him, to assure he had the best quality of life over his many years as their patient. Friends will be received at the Donald V.
