Obituary of Arpad Komaromy
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a great man, Johnny, at the age of 76. With his children holding his hands, Arpad fought a short but courageous battle with cancer, and then peacefully “went home”. A patient and devoted father to Emilian and Nadia Komaromy, and Dianna and Joe Sferrazza, he will also be greatly missed by his treasured grandsons Lucas and Matthew. Born in Debeljaca, he is predeceased by his parents, Janos and Maria and his brother Jani. He is survived by his sister Marika, and will be lovingly remembered by many relatives and friends. Arpad spent 52 years of his life as a professionally licensed tradesman, specializing in commercial and residential painting in Hamilton and the GTA, but his passion was for music and languages. He was a collector, a storyteller, but above all he was a dedicated father and Otata. Special thanks to the staff at Emmanuel House for their immeasurable support and patience for him and his family through this time. Visitation will be held at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m. where the Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Friday, July 25, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. Interment Our Lady of the Angels Cemetery.
