Mary Lou Dickson, Chair of Administrative Board, Barton Stone United Church and Chair of Pastoral Care posted a condolence
Tuesday, September 4, 2012
We at Barton Stone have fond remembrances of Anita during the time she spent at Barton Stone United Church. Her usual pastoral visitor at Wentworth Lodge was Margaret Bethune, (a dear friend of the Browns of the funeral home family), who was unfortunately on holiday at the time of Anita's passing. Joan Massey went to the visitation as Anita's former Elder. I was at our cottage and our minister learned too late to attend the visitation. I visited once when Peg was unable to go and enjoyed the time with Anita. Our minister, Karen Inkster, also made visits when she could. Ours is a small congregation with many elderly people from the retirement villages nearby. Several of the members of the Pastoral Care Team are octogenarians themselves so visits aren't as often as they might be.
Anita's name came up at each Pastoral Care meeting as a sweet woman who required our prayers and visits.
Now our thought and prayers are with her family as they grieve the loss of a lovely woman. This morning was our first Sunday back at the church since the end of July and I know that folks from "The Village" were sorry to hear Karen's announcement of Anita's passing.

Many fond memories from my youth of the days on Roxborough Ave. in the Creek and the parties in the basement. Mrs. D was always sweet and welcomed us all. We no doubt drove her crazy back then. Here's to your good long life - Well done Mrs. D

I will always have wonderful memories of our beloved Eastdale School secretary. She took every new teacher under her wing and cared deeply about them and their families. We have been corresponding for so many years now, it will be so sad not to hear from her. She was a treasure and will be missed terribly, but not forgotten.
