Obituary of Alfred George

Passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, after a short illness, on Friday, August 8, 2014, in his 87th year. Loving companion of Margaret Smith. Predeceased by his wives, Mary Anne and Katherine, his daughters Jane and Carolyn, daughter-in-law Carmela, grandson Zachery and great-grandson Oliver. Dad will be deeply missed by his children, Chuck (Johanna), Kathy (Ted), Jim (Maria), Rick (Amanda) and Michelle. Born in Malta, October 1, 1927, and served in the Royal Navy, was a retired employee of International Harvester, member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 622 and long-time fan of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. Dad loved all of his 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He will be fondly remembered by the De Pasquale, Huybens, and Faulknor families. Special thanks to the staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital for their care and compassion at this difficult time. Visitation will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, 12 King Street East, Stoney Creek, on Sunday, August 17th from 2-3 p.m. with a Memorial Service to follow at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Royal Canadian Legion, Br. 622, or a charity of your choice.
