Obituary of Hilda Annie Fairhurst
With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on Friday, October 17, 2014 at Joseph Brant Hospital in her 101st year. Beloved wife of the late Harold (1985). Cherished mother of Leslie and his wife Diane, and Elaine. Devoted grandmother of Jennifer, Scott, Nancy, James, Kimberly and great-grandmother of Kenneth, Rebecca, Matthew, Evan, Heidi, Jacob, Aiden and Aidan. Survived by her twin sister Laura Southey and many nieces and nephews. Hilda was a blessing to all and a friend to everyone. She had a kind and gentle spirit, a sharp wit and sense of humour. She was a life member of the ladies auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 622 and had worked for many years in the ice cream bar and store at the Stoney Creek Dairy. She was a treasure that we will carry in our hearts. Cremation has taken place. A private family interment will be held at White Chapel Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 622 on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 from 3-5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 622 would be greatly appreciated. A Letter from Heaven
When tomorrow starts without me,
and I’m not here to see,
If the sun should rise and find your
eyes filled of tears of me.
I wish so much you wouldn’t cry,
the way you did today,
While thinking of the many things,
we did not get to say.
I know how much you love me,
as much as I love you,
and each time you think of me,
I know you’ll miss me too.
When tomorrow starts without me,
don’t think we’re far apart,
for every time you think of me,
I’m right there in your heart.
