Sadly I never had the good fortune of volunteering on the Haida with Your dear Husband ,Father,or Grandad, but I wish I had done so as I was on duty @the Hamilton General the night of the Plastimet Fire, and that would have been a point of remembrance in the history of the city ,and of Tom's life .

Memories will allways last of a very close high school friend in the early to mid 60's. We spent a lot of time together during high school and breifly after graduation until Tom joined the Navy. We remember his humour, his heart of gold and his taste for a little rum, even befire he joined the navy. To Toms family, our sincere deepest sympathy.. Thank you Tom for being part of our lives. Remebered allways.

I have great memories of Tom. He was an excellent communications operator and also a great person. I was the Platoon Chief on the night of the Plastimet fire and Tom was one of the communications operators. His cool demeanor and professionalism was a terrific help to me. He was working for many of the fires that I attended and was always a great help. I am happy that I attended his retirement party at the Naval Vets and was able to tell him how much I admired him as a person and as a member of the communications divison. RIP Tom.
