Obituary of Carol Ann Barnes

It is with deep sadness and great love in our hearts that we announce the passing of Carol Ann Barnes. Carol entered peacefully into her eternal journey on Sunday, March 1, 2015 in her 75th year. Cherished wife of Bill for 55 years, loving mother of William Jr. (Wendy), Tobi Hawthorne (David) and Ted (Cathy). Loving grandmother of Amy, Lauren, Alexandra, David, Cassidy and Jackson. Carol is survived by her brothers Ken (Beverly), Donald (Theresa) and Richard (Heather). She is predeceased by her sisters Diane, Deborah, brother Billy and parents Beatrice and William. Sister-in-law to Marilyn (Ned) Bernacci, Eileen (Lorne) Stewart and Margaret Barnes. A special thank you to Mary Barnes. Thanks to staff of 7 South and the RACE team at the Hamilton General. Carol lived a life of quiet grace, dignity and compassion; she will live forever in our hearts. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Thursday, March 5 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Vigil Prayers at 3:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, March 6, 2015 at 10 a.m. at St. Martin of Tours Church, 166 West St., Smithville. Private Interment to follow. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Lung Association would be appreciated.
