A giant in his time, quiet, influential, inspiring, endlessly generous, Michael will live on as long as Community Theatre in the GHA lasts. How he loved his students and those he took under his tutelage, how he loved hearing all news of what was happening, how he loved holding court at show openings and during intermissions, especially in the Guild's lovely parlour! He was forthright in his opinions and assessments, never suffering shoddy work gladly, his praise of fine art and of theatre was eagerly sought and embraced by us all. His love of culture and life, of the better things they offered was well planted in all who came within his influence. Requiem aeternum, dona eis.
