Obituary of Henny Nielsen

Henny reached the end of her journey on March 18, 2015 in her 91st year, at St. Peter’s Hospital on Maplewood Ave., Hamilton. Loved mother of Gyrithe and her husband Jim Harrison. Cherished Mormor (grandmother) of Jennifer (Rick) and James (Jacqueline). Much loved Mormor (great-grandmother) of Richard, Meghan and Hayden. Predeceased by her husband Carl Aage in 1991. With her husband and daughter, Henny immigrated to Canada from Denmark in 1957. Henny was a long-time resident of Dundas, where she owned and operated her store “Coiffure de Paris” on King Street West for over 40 years until her retirement in 2000. Henny was very active and she was involved in many organizations throughout her extraordinary and remarkable long life. She was the last of her generation in our family. The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Bev and the amazing, caring and compassionate staff at St. Peter’s Hospital for the wonderful care Mom received during the past 8 months. As per Mom’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Thursday, April 9, 2015 from 1-4 p.m. A celebration of her memorable life will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, April 10, 2015 at 1 p.m. Private interment at Grove Cemetery in Dundas to follow at a later date.
