Obituary of Rudolf Hanc

At the Juravinski Hospital on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 in his 73rd year. Beloved husband of Marija (Mary) Hanc. Dear father of Rosemarie Cumerlato (Leo), Robert Hanc (Julie), Kathy Tollis-Notter (Ken). Lovingly remembered by 3 grandchildren Samantha, Aliya and Madison. Dear brother of Joe Hanc (Olga) and family, Agnes Sutlic (Matte), Sabina Jokic (Peter) and family, and 1 sister and 2 brothers in Slovenia Olga Kocman and family, Matija and family and Steve and family. Cousin to Ivan Kirec (Ana) and family. Rudy was an employee of Dofasco for almost 30 years and enjoyed retirement for 20 years after Dofasco. Rudy will be remembered for his love of his wife, children and grandchildren, for the outdoors, sports, singing, storytelling, laughter and sharing a good glass of wine with his friends. The family would like to sincerely thank Doctors Allega, Matsunoto, McMillan, Corbett and the caring doctors and staff at the Juravinski Hospital. Family and friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Friday from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Vigil for Rudy Friday at 8 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Gregory the Great Church, 125 Centennial Parkway North on Saturday November 23 at 9:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Our Lady of the Angels Cemetery. Reception to follow at St. Gregory The Great Church. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
