Obituary of Cali Briann Carpenter
CARPENTER, Cali Briann
Cali Briann Carpenter was born on November 7, 2003. In her 12 short years she packed in a very full life. She loved travelling and experiencing adventures with her mom and dad Wanda and Brian who love and miss her beyond words. She admired, respected and loved her older sisters Taylor (Daltan) and Rylie (Austin). She was so excited to finally get our new puppy on Dec 12th that she named Stella. Cali told us that Stella has HER eyes, the most beautiful green-gold, and it’s true. Despite her physical limitations she loved ice skating, swimming and long walks with her friends to Tim Hortons. She never let Type 1 Diabetes or Long QT syndrome define her. She lived life HER way and spent every day believing it would be the best yet. It was fitting that she should pass and receive her angel wings on Christmas Day after a full day of opening gifts and enjoying meals surrounded by those who love her. Thank you to so many people who loved and cared for and about our precious girl. We can’t possibly name every one, but if you have touched Cali’s life or she has touched yours in either a small or significant way please accept our heartfelt thanks! A few important names we must mention are Ariana and Kaylie her soul sisters, Lauren her BFF, Jacqueline, Emma, Faith, Mark, Amy, Ethan, Jordyn, Ollie, Barb, Abby, Tessa, Mary Anne and “Mr. Brad”, The Filice and Agapay Families, her many teachers, nurses, doctors and Heather (child life at McMaster) and Judith (nurse practitioner at Sick Kids), nurse Wendy and Greg Moore, Principal, who all loved her as their own. There are countless others who made such a difference in her life. She was so very loved by her grandparents Sandy and Wally Oldfield and by Judy and Jim Carpenter. A special thank you to all those who support Cali’s Cookies – her personal fundraiser for McMaster Children’s Hospital. This was our biggest year yet and she was so proud of all the gifts and gift cards she personally delivered to sick children each year. Next year will be even bigger (we hope). We also want to thank a very special young man named Adam – the first boy to be truly kind and to care about Cali and make her feel so very special. Her first kiss. This, as parents, makes us feel so good knowing she got to experience so many “firsts” in her short time here on earth. To ‘Auntie’ Jen and ‘Uncle’ Bruce – you hold us up and your love is overwhelming. You cared so much for our baby girl in life and are now reminding us each day to be strong and take care of ourselves in order to pick up the pieces, to heal and to continually honour Cali’s memory. We can never thank you enough. We know Cali is now singing, dancing and having an amazing time in Heaven with her Nanny who has been waiting for her – our Christmas Angel – fly high baby girl and please show us signs that you are watching over all of us, to bring us comfort and heal our hearts … we will see you again! Xxoo
