Obituary of Emil Simon Maitz

MAITZ, Emil Simon Passed away peacefully on January 18, 2016 in his 80th year. Cherished and loving husband of Ann for over 53 years. Emil was a proud father to Ron (Patty) Maitz, Sue Maitz, and Rick Maitz. Loving Grandfather to Madison, Connor, and Arabelis. Survived by sister Franceska of Slovenia. Emil will be sadly missed by many family, friends, and his two cats McCabe and Ollie. He was retired from Bay King Motors for the last 26 years. Emil took great pride in his 1962 Cadillac Convertible, where he would enjoy the classic car cruise nights. He was a gifted handyman with many talents, including playing the accordion and harmonica. Emil also took great pleasure in listening to a variety of music, especially Elvis. Special thank you to Dr. Craig Ainsworth and nurses Harry and Virginia for their exemplary care of Emil. Family and friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, on Thursday evening from 7-9 p.m. A private family interment will take place at Our Lady of the Angels Cemetery, Stoney Creek, at a later date.
