Obituary of Louis William Allan

ALLAN, Louis William Peacefully, at the Hamilton General Hospital, after a short illness, on Thursday, January 21, 2016 in his 85th year. Beloved husband of Susanna for 61 years. Loving father to Linda (Todd) and Joanne (David). Cherished grandfather to Noah and Rebecca. Special step-grandfather to Christian, Callista and Charleyn. Predeceased by his parents Mary and Andrew Allain, his sister Jeannette, and grandson Dawson. Survived by his siblings Claudette, Amelia, Joseph, Andrea and Donna, as well as many nieces and nephews. Lou was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #7969, the Battlefield Optimist Club, Captain of the Moose Lodge "B" Cribbage team, and a member of the Men's Choir at St Francis Xavier Parish. He was an active scout leader for many years for the 5th Stoney Creek Scouts and was the District Commission for a year. After retiring from a career working with Beneficial Finance, he found pleasure in umpiring hardball for several years for BOMBA. He will be missed by all who knew him. As per Lou's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private celebration of his life will take place at a later date.
