Obituary of Jan (John) vanBeek

vanBeek, Jan (John) It is with great sadness that we share the passing of a very special man, Jan (John) vanBeek, who left us on Good Friday, aged 80. He was a beloved husband and friend to Catherina for 58 years, an amazing father to Ellen, John (Jessica) and Mary-Ann (Angus) and a super Opa to Benjamin, Holly and Sara. A respected big brother to Bert and Joe vanBeek. He was surrounded by his family, friends and neighbours in the home that he built 50 years ago, with sounds of life, laughter and happiness to let him know how much he was deeply loved. Not a day went by without someone by his side. He was a man who always made time for his close friends and his family. There were never enough hours in the day to do all he wanted to do for others. We miss him so much already. We want to share a very special thank you to Liz and Maria from ParaMed for their amazing compassion and respect for John and his family. Your kindness will always be remembered. To Barb and Nellie, the nurses that kept John comfortable and safe in his home. These people made it possible for John to remain home and for the family to spend every moment with him. To Dr. Mukherjee and Jane from Juravinski who gave their time and attention at every visit for the past 14 years. John lived a full life and had an immense impact on his children, family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all those whose lives he has touched. His special friends, Nhew and Yong at the Bangkok Spoon at 57 King Street West in Dundas, Ontario will be hosting a celebration for John on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 from 6-9 pm. For those that wish to share a good story or two or give their condolences in person, we would love to see you there. Arrangements have been entrusted to Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 905-662-2948. Notes of sympathy and condolence may be made at www.donaldvbrown.ca
