Obituary of Hazel Ballantyne

BALLANTYNE, Hazel Peacefully, at her home in Hamilton, Ontario with family by her side Hazel Ballantyne passed suddenly in her sleep on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 in her 67th year. Loving mother of Amanda (Steven) and good friend of Bob Kirkwood. Hazel was dearly loved by her grandchildren Michael (Cassie) Dakota, Jacob and Logan and will be greatly missed at the upcoming birth of her great-grandson Keaghan. She was the loving sister of the late Sharon (Don), Robert, the late Roy, Doug (Carolyn), Lynda, Sandra (Wally) and Rosemarie (Bob). Hazel was an avid sports fan and was always sure to be home in time to watch the Blue Jays and Ti Cats win or lose and she enjoyed recapping the game over the phone with her grandsons. Visitation will be held at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at 12 p.m. followed by a short service at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
