Dear Johnny, Barbara, Mary and families,
We were so sorry to hear of your dad's passing today. When I saw his picture in the paper, it was like someone slapped me in the chest. Please accept our deepest condolences.
At times like these, it brings back all the memories of our childhood growing up. I'll never forget all the fun times we socialized at each others' houses, our trips to Crystal Beach. I'll never forget when I used to sometimes come to your house on Walter Avenue since I went to school around the corner at Viscount M. Barbara was just a baby, and I have a vivid memory/scene of Mary feeding Barbara in her high chair....funny how some scenes just stick in your head forever.
My mom was sad to hear of Nick's passing but then reminded us that he did have a good long life. She's not been so great lately.....has bad arthritis in her knees (can't walk without a walker); has macular degeneration in her eyes; deaf as a doornail; and lately she's had to have all her upper teeth pulled to make way for a denture.. It's been a rough year for her.
Assuming the interment has taken place, I promised my mom I would take her to Nick's grave so we can say our last goodbyes.
I wish you all the best now and forever. Please give your mom a big hug and tell her it was from Bessie and Mary........ we always loved her so much.
