Obituary of John G. Eitel

EITEL, John G. It is with great sadness we share the peaceful passing of John G. Eitel in his 64th year, on July 31, 2011, at home. He will be truly missed by his wife and best friend, Maureen. Truly amazing and loved dad of Jamie and Mel Eitel, and Jen and Mark Hall. Survived by his sister Ann Simpson. Predeceased by his sister Dolores Downey and brother Gerald Eitel. John retired as a sergeant after 31 years of proudly serving with the Hamilton Police Service. His kindness, humility and gentleness will be fondly remembered by his family, friends, golf buddies, Saturn customers and all who knew him. The family wishes to thank all the wonderful medical professionals who helped John with his many challenges, especially Dr. Gary Stuart, Dr. Brian Leber and staff, and Kerry Ann. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends at the Donadl V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Wednesday, August 3rd from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Celebration of John's life will take place at Philpott Memorial Church, 84 York Blvd., Hamilton on Thursday, August 4, 2011 at 7 p.m. with visitation one hour prior.
