Obituary of Burton Elliott
ELLIOTT, Burton "Clare" Suddenly at his home in Stoney Creek on Saturday, March 29, 2008, in his 72nd year. Beloved and cherished husband of 45 years to Marlene (nee Lawson). Best buddy and loving father of Scott and Jennifer Elliott of Binbrook. Dear Brother to Stan and Clarice, Fred and Elizabeth, and Lewis and Edna. Dear Brother-in-law to Shirley and the late Stanley Strickland, Bev and John Hymers, Barb Young and Robert Warden, Doris Lawson and Bud MacIntosh. Uncle Clare to many loving nieces and nephews. Clare is predeceased by his parents Charles and Jean Elliott and his brother John Elliott. Clare was a member of Wentworth Lodge #166 and a valued member of the Battlefield Optimist Club. Clare was a retired District Chief of Stoney Creek Volunteer Fire Department. Friends and family will be received at the DONALD V. BROWN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Lake Ave. Dr., Stoney Creek on Wednesday, April 2, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Masonic Service will be held Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at the Cheyne Presbyterian Church (King and First St.), Stoney Creek on Thursday, April 3 at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Lung Association would be appreciated by the family. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to all of their friends and neighbours who have given so much love and support to Clare.
